Common reasons for AAMA501.2 test failure.

We have carried out literally hundreds (more likely thousands at this point) of AAMA 501.2 tests at Facade Water Testing, and in our experience, the most commen failures are caused by the following defects:

Poor subsill end dam detailing/ installation.

Poor sealant detailing/ installation.

Missing backing rods or gaskets.

Hole in weatherline (vapour barrier, sarking etc.).

Incorrect fastener installation.

Installation not per manufacturer specifications.
